Forget about the POSH sale. In today's hush-hush 2 hour presale, the organizers proved that they can't control the event as one thug reseller and his entourage took all the goods off the racks and made the other attendees actually wait until he selected what he wanted and gave them a chance to choose from his rejects. Between this $400/person disaster and tomorrows $175/person preview, no great goods will be available (unless you like Adolfo or Carlisle). And, prices this year are way up...apparently,the women's committee didn't like leaving any profit on the table. Too bad...a great cause...a previous great event gone sour. Suggestion: donate some $$$ to the Lighthouse and wait for sale to break at the stores in two weeks.
Dear Primo Fashionista:
Thank you for sharing your concerns about the Posh Sale. Every year we seek to improve the shopping experience for our customers, and this year we tried a new format that allowed our wholesalers to shop at a different time so as not to disturb the public sale. We appreciate your remarks and will certainly reconsider this arrangement next year, as we conduct our review of the sale.
We do want to assure you, however, that the wholesalers buy every year, and this year, as in past years, they do not diminish in any way the wide array of merchandise we offer. In fact, we replenish merchandise daily, and I have just found out we have 12 cartons of new, top-level items being donated today. Concerning our price structure, we review that every year and make adjustments, depending on the original retail value. And, as you know, our discounts are still very deep, and we offer great bargains.
Even more significant than the bargains, however, is the cause we serve – to raise funds for Lighthouse International's very important work to help children, teens, and adults who are blind and visually impaired lead productive and independent lives. That is our mission, and, ultimately, that is what the sale is about. We invite you to come in and see the bargains for yourself. Ask for Peggy Kaufman, co-chair of Posh, and she will be glad to help.
