5 Great Reasons To Drink Champagne

5 Great Reasons To Drink Champagne

5 Great Reasons To Drink Champagne

By Ted Demopoulos

People often associate Champagne only with special events like Weddings, Christenings, and more, but it really is a wonderful wine suitable for many occasions. There really needs to be no mystique about it, it is simply wine, although certainly one of the great white wines of the world. And besides Champagne, which is always from Champagne, France, hence its name, there are also many wonderful and often much less expensive sparkling wines from other areas of the world such as Italy, California, Spain, and even England. We will treat all sparkling wines together below, and anywhere we say Champagne realize you can substitute any sparkling wine you enjoy.

1) A special event is the traditional reason to open a bottle or more. The Wedding toast for example, is a classic reason. An anniversary celebration is another. I'm sure you have many other special events that may be appropriate as well.

2) Brunch is a great time to enjoy a glass, hence the term Champagne Brunch. It is not only very food friendly, but it also goes extremely well with eggs, whether a simple dish like fried or scrambled eggs, or something more complicated like Eggs Benedict or a Frittata. Of course it can also be mixed with orange juice to make a classic Mimosa, a common brunch libation. Not surprisingly, most people tend to do this on lazy Sundays as it just doesn't fit into most people's busy weekdays!

3) Dinner! Yes, dinner is an excellent reason to serve Champagne. You can serve it as an aperitif, perhaps with appetizers, or even with the meal itself. If serving the entire evening, you may want to start with a Blanc de blancs, which is made of all Chardonnay and usually quite light and crisp, move onto a traditional Champagne with the main course, and consider serving a demi-sec, a sweet version, with dessert. Although it won't match well with a Prime Rib or other big piece or red meat, it goes well with most other dishes.

4) When friends stop by. I usually keep a bottle in my refrigerator in case friends unexpectedly stop by. There is just something classy and inviting about offering a glass of Champagne, whether the offer is accepted or not. And if it's someone you find attractive, it can be quite romantic too!

5) Any party is a great time to serve Champagne! I'll often serve it first, sometimes only to the people who arrive on time. Do this a few times and people won't be late anymore!

Much more information is available at Champagne and Claude Genet Champagne. We go into the various styles of Champagne, and give some specific recommendations of ones we love at all price points.

Quirky Ideas for Your Paris Holiday

Quirky Ideas for Your Paris Holiday

Quirky Ideas for Your Paris Holiday

By Roberta Stuart

As you may already be aware if you've opted to stay in one of its boutique hotels, Paris is a city that rewards those who look for the unique. Read on for some of its best-kept secrets.

Secret Museums

They may not, strictly speaking, be secret - you will find them listed in your guidebook - but some of Paris's smaller, more idiosyncratic museums are often overlooked in favour of giants such as the Louvre. Lovers of eclectic collections will find a gem in the Marais district - the Musee Carnavalet, which mixes history, politics, art and architecture with its fascinating assemblage of curios and objects d'art. They include a sculpture of the Bastilles, cut into a single brick taken from the stormed fortress itself. For those who want something very different, the Musee des Egouts is a world away from boutique hotels. Paris has a highly sophisticated sewer system - which has actually played a significant role in the city's socio-political history - and this museum takes you underground to see for yourself.

Canal Walks, Carriage Rides, Beach Strolls

If you have coach fatigue, there are some delightful alternative ways to tour the City of Light. Following any of its picturesque canals, shaded by broad leafy trees, is a rewarding experience: you'll see places off the beaten track, pass old buildings and bridges, meeting other intrepid flaneurs as you go. The city being what it is, it won't be too long before you find a little caf to duck into, where you can watch life go by. For a different experience, if you visit in summer, be sure to check out the Paris Plages - long stretches of the Seine's bank converted into beaches, giving you a taste of the French seaside hardly any distance from your boutique hotels. Paris is also, famously, the city of romance, and if you are visiting with a special someone, there are few more memorable ways to see the city than from a horse-drawn carriage - just be sure to book ahead, as these tours are popular!

Out of the Pages of Books

From pavement cafes, to high garrets, to the balconies of boutique hotels, Paris is full of nooks and crannies where the literary-minded can curl up with their novels - or their notebooks. Paris has inspired countless writers from around the world, and it's not hard to see why. If you find yourself walking the cobbled streets and dreaming of following in the footsteps of Dickens, Hemingway, Orwell, Stein, or the many others who penned great works after walking the same beat, head over to the Shakespeare & Company bookshop in the Latin quarter. The downstairs area is considered by many to be the city's best English-language bookshop, while upstairs is a library of old tomes where you can browse and read for hours. Compose a story on their typewriter and add it to the wall, or attend one of their weekly writing workshops - whatever you do, you're bound to find inspiration here.

Dress Up Your Home With Cheetah Print Decorating Ideas

Dress Up Your Home With Cheetah Print Decorating Ideas

Dress Up Your Home With Cheetah Print Decorating Ideas

By Kevin Wynn

Retailers that specialize in home furnishings know that the popularity of wild animal prints has grown exponentially in recent years. That is why there are so many cheetah print decorating ideas available for your home. You can purchase a new set of furniture that features the naturally beautiful pattern of this amazing cat, or you can add a small subtle accent or two throughout your home.

Your condo, studio apartment, or dorm room could likely benefit from a piece of furniture that serves a dual role, and that is exactly the case with the cheetah print storage ottomans. These are great because they liven up the room with their beautiful patterns, give you a place to prop up your feet in the evening, and the opportunity to store away books, magazines, toys, or other potential clutter. You can choose an ottoman covered in chenille, faux leather, or woven upholstery.

You can make even bigger changes to your home dcor by adding a cheetah print accent chair, chaise lounge, or recliner to your current furniture set. In fact, some retailers sell slip covers that will change the entire look of your existing furniture and give your living room a whole new decorative theme. One of the best aspects of using cheetah print is that it can create a rustic look or a modern one, depending on the rest of the accessories you use.

If you love the idea of animal print designs, but do not feel comfortable adding it to your living room or dining room, you can still use it to beautify your bedroom. Contemporary cheetah print bedding with big, warm comforters and exotic linens will give the room an elegant look and comfortable feel. You can even offset the motif with lamps on your bedside table and perhaps a set of cheetah print curtains or drapes. Continue your theme into the master bathroom by adding matching curtains there as well.

As you consider your many options for the home, do not leave out the kitchen. There are plenty of accessories you can use to give your kitchen the same elegant look as the rest of the house. Hang a cheetah wall clock that features the cat's spotted pattern on the face, and place cheetah print vases in the window over the sink. Cheetah spotted vases are available in a wide variety of sizes, styles, and materials, all available at a range of prices.

As you make your choices from room to room, you can develop a recurring theme to pull it all together with your use of cheetah print flooring. If you want to cover your floor with carpet, you will find carpet tiles to be reasonably priced and easy to install; you can usually do so without the assistance of a professional carpet installer. The other option for flooring is cheetah print rugs. Find a pattern that appeals to you and use it as an area rug in your living room or dining room, or both. Most area rugs have matching rugs, mats, and runners available so you can use them throughout the house.

4 Popular Beauty Myths Busted

4 Popular Beauty Myths Busted

4 Popular Beauty Myths Busted

By Michelle R Roberts

There is absolutely no dearth of myths when it comes to beauty, fitness, health, nutrition and weight loss. I believe they are as integral to mankind as superstitions, but they differ from the latter in that it's difficult to hazard a guess on how they originated.

I guess we needn't worry our heads with things like that and simply focus on debunking these myths with a foundation of solid facts. Our role is to prevent these myths from perpetuating themselves. If we can do that, we can consider our jobs done. So, pass on the good word, my man!

Myth #1: Sitting with your legs crossed will cause varicose veins

Nope, they won't. And, they won't cause spider veins either. On the other hand, standing for long periods can give you varicose veins. When you stand too long, the vascular network has to work overtime to pump blood from the legs up to the heart. In case the valves that channelize the blood flow in one direction within the vessels aren't functioning properly, it can cause the blood to pool. Result? Varicose veins. So, cross your slender legs all you want; just don't stand around for too long.

Myth #2: When you shave, the hair that grows back is thicker and darker

Not true. Shaving does nothing to change the density, color, or width of your hair. If you look at the structure of a strand of hair, it is wide at the base and narrow at the tips. Shaving cuts hair at the base, causing the widest part to grow out. This causes the hair to look thicker. But there isn't any real change in the texture of your hair.

Myth #3: Apply petroleum jelly on your face and keep wrinkles at bay

Hate to break your heart, but there isn't much truth in this either, even if it was part of Marilyn Monroe's beauty routine. Petroleum jelly may be the strongest moisturizer known to us but it cannot prevent aging. The best it can do is force the oil into the skin and keep it from evaporating. However, as your skin ages, it is unable to retain moisture as it used to. Petroleum jelly softens the lines by adding moisture to the skin; thereby making them less visible. But, it won't turn the clock back for your skin.

Myth #4: Brush your hair vigorously for a healthy shine

Vigorous brushing of the hair does more harm than good. If fact, gentle brushing is recommended by hair experts. Brushing your locks gently distributes the natural oils from the scalp all the way to the hair shafts, thus making them shine. It also stimulates flow of blood to the scalp and removes impurities adding to the overall health of your hair. Now you know what to do to keep your crowning glory healthy.

How To Use Lip Stain For A Great Makeup Look

How To Use Lip Stain For A Great Makeup Look

Author: Barbara Maynard Huffman

There are so many lip formulations to choose from to make your lips pop with gorgeous color! You can choose from lipsticks in matte or cream formulas, lip glosses, tinted lip balms, and the list goes on and on. In this article, let's concentrate on lip stain. You may have seen lip stain in your local store and wondered what it is and how it is used on lips. Actually, the product is very easy to use and creates a really nice look!

If you want to get a sheer wash of color on your lips that will last for hours, you may want to try a lip stain. Most cosmetic lines, along with their glosses and lip sticks, also offer a lip stain. A stain is a pigment contained in a gel or water base. For application, you can find them in brush on, marker or pen-like tips, pumps and pots.

Before applying your stain, be sure to exfoliate your lips with a dry toothbrush. Apply a balm or other product designed for moisturizing your lips. This is a very important step that is necessary for your overall lip look, so don't skip it! If you don't want to use the method mentioned here, you will find products designed just for this purpose that you can apply to your lips.

Lining your lips before applying your stain is optional. If you use a brand with the marker tip, you can use the stain as a liner by lining your natural lip line with it and then filling in the rest of your lips. Depending on whether you want a sheer wash of natural looking color or a deep dramatic look, apply one coat of stain for a natural pop of color, or as many coats as you want to achieve the desired depth of color. The sky is the limit here. You can make the color as deep and intense as you'd like, or as sheer and natural as you'd like.

If you want a dewy and moist look, you can apply a sheer gloss over the stain. If you want a more natural "flush of color" look then no gloss is the way to go. You will want the look of your lips to compliment the rest of your look. So if you are trying to achieve a bare and natural look, then you will want your lip stain to be as close to your natural lip color as possible.

Lip stain has staying power! A lot of women like to use lip stain for this reason only!

The next time you want to try something different for your lips, consider the lip stain. You can find hundreds of brands in your local drugstore, department store and online.

Things Every Woman Should Have In Her Car

Things Every Woman Should Have In Her Car
Things Every Woman Should Have In Her Car

By Ellen Tarnapolsky

We've all been in the situation where you're in your car and you don't have something you need. Perhaps you left it at home or in the office, or it's in your other purse. Below are a few essential items that just about every woman uses often. You should have a few of these items and leave them in the places you are in most, like your car and your office.

Umbrella: This is one situation that nobody likes to get stuck in. You're in your car on your way to an important meeting or a date, your hair and make up are done, when suddenly it starts to downpour. Then your heart stops as your realize that you don't have your umbrella with you. If you make sure to always have a spare umbrella in your trunk, you will be so thankful when it starts raining.

Sunglasses: This is another essential item that can save you from weather disasters. Don't you just hate it when you're driving and suddenly the sun is shining directly in your eyes? Sometimes you can squint enough to drive normally, but sometimes it's actually dangerous! Sunglasses don't just protect your eyes from harmful UV rays or make you look cool, but they will help when the sun is glaring in your eyes. Keep a pair in your purse and an extra pair in your glove compartment. The one in your car should just remain there for car rides only. Invest in a good quality pair that is polarized for optimum protection. Try wholesale sunglasses for cheaper deals.

Spare change: This always comes in handy. Whether it's to feed the meter, paying a toll or using a pay phone, spare change is something you should always keep plenty of in your car. Try to have an assortment of quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies. Some cars have special compartments for change. If yours doesn't, just keep it somewhere close by the driver's seat where it's easy to reach.

Cell phone charger: This one is a no brainer. No matter what happens on the road, having your cell phone on you and fully charged keeps you just a phone call away from help.

Snacks: Whether you're a mom driving car pool or you take long trips back and forth from work, having packaged snacks in your car at all times will keep your hunger at bay when you're stuck in traffic or had to take a detour. Get snacks that have a long shelf life and are healthy, like protein bars, cereal, pretzels or dried fruit. This will keep you, your kids and anyone else in your car happy until you get to your location.

Make Any Night A Fiesta: Serve Tacos and Fun At Your Next Party!

Make Any Night A Fiesta: Serve Tacos and Fun At Your Next Party!

Make Any Night A Fiesta: Serve Tacos and Fun At Your Next Party!

By Christopher T Kennedy

In recent years, tacos have grown to be a standard meal to offer for supper. It's turned out to be almost as common in America as french fries and hamburgers! It can also be quite fun to make tacos with a couple of close friends. In this informative article I am going to show you how you can turn any night into a fiesta night while cooking tacos as a group.

The very first thing you need to do is to ask a small group of friends to join you. While you are speaking to them regarding your fiesta night, be sure you tell them you are making tacos. Find out any eating constraints they have, simply because this is going to be useful to make sure everybody can eat the dinner you make. Figuring out the number of people are planning to attend your taco night will also allow you to get the correct amount of food.

After the date is set for your fiesta night, its time to get the food. Make a summary of the ingredients you need. An easy way to minimize expenses is to offer to buy all of the ingredients for cooking tacos yourself, then request your friends to each bring an appetizer. Be sure to tell them what you would like them to bring so that you do not have way too much of something and not an adequate amount of another. When you pick up items to make the tacos you ought to begin with the main filling. Typically, it is some sort of meat like ground beef or chicken. You may also use pinto and black beans or something like that in the event that some of your friends are vegans. Besides the main filling, you will also need spices, some sort of shell, hard or soft, and a variety of toppings. A reliable guideline for the amount to get is approximately 1 lb. of main filling for every 3 visitors. You'll likely have a bit of leftovers, however that's far better than not having enough for everyone! When it comes to toppings, make sure to purchase the right amount to match the quantity of filling you got.

Now that you have your meal taken care of, another thing you can plan is how to make the fiesta fun. You'll want to pick the right music such as salsa or mariachi to create the mood. If your guests happen to be musical, have a hand drum plus a pair of maracas on the table for folks to pick up if they wish. In addition, have a handful of sombreros about for the guests to wear. You might make up games and have the champion get to wear a sombrero for a certain amount of time. When you're done dinner, you can make or buy a pinata and fill it up with prizes and candies. Have your guests attempt to open it using a stick or some other similar object. As soon as the pinata at last cracks all your visitors will certainly have big smiles as you all scramble on the floor picking up the goodies!

Cooking tacos and having a fiesta night is simple to do and can be very enjoyable. All you need to do is invite your friends to join you, decide on the correct amount of food, and create the atmosphere using some music and fun activities. Simply by adhering to all of these easy steps you will have a fiesta any night of the week!

When Do Women Wear A Little Black Dress?

When Do Women Wear A Little Black Dress?

When Do Women Wear A Little Black Dress?

By Amelia Warmheart

There's a bit of a difference when it comes to women wearing a little black dress as compared to other normal dresses. Usually it's for formal occasions such as these.

Going For A Formal Event

If you've been invited to a formal event such as a dinner, wearing the right little black dress will certainly make quite an impact. Other than making heads turn, it is also a good choice for formal events where women get to dress up to impress. The wonderful thing about womens clothing is the fact that there are so many different colors, designs and patterns to choose from. You will not be able to find such a wide variety of clothing if you went to the clothing for men. When it comes to formal dinners and events, you can be sure to find women looking beautiful in their dresses.

For Performances And Presentation

Women who are performing in any musical or concert will normally have to wear formal dresses. This is not referring to any rock or pop concert but more of classical music, opera or orchestra. Ladies who play any musical instrument in an orchestra or singing in an opera will be dressed formally. If you pay attention to any award ceremony like the Grammy Awards or the Oscars, the paparazzi are always found to be photographing beautiful actresses wearing lovely gowns on the red carpet. And women presenters in these awards are dressed really well while the event is televised all over. These are just some of the formal occasions that women would wear a little black dress.

On A Formal Date

Of course when your date wants to take you out for some fine dining, you can't be seen wearing jeans and shirts to the restaurant. Just another occasion to slip on a formal dress for a relaxing evening meal. Depending on how posh the place is, you will have to pick the dress to match the setting. Besides, not only will you impress your date, you will definitely impress the other guests at the restaurant if you come looking well groomed and dressed. So enjoy your date and who knows? Maybe that's when your date will pop the question and propose to you in a romantic setting. Now that will really make your evening grand.

Summary

These are just some of the occasions where women will dress up really well choosing from a wide range of womens clothing. Attending any formal event, performances or going for fine dining are good reasons to dress formally. Have a good one!

Amelia Warmheart is an avid traveler but a lousy cook. When not traveling or recovering from jet lag, she shares when women normally wear a little black dress. Holiday Make Up Tips

Holiday Make Up TipsHoliday Make Up Tips

By Ellen Tarnapolsky

With the holidays just around the corner, you want to make sure you look your best from head to toe. When your make up is great, you'll feel more confident all over. But many women make the mistake of either not wearing enough make up and looking drab, or wearing way too much and looking tacky. With just a few tips and tricks, you can be sure your make up will be flawless, whether it's an office party, a cocktail affair, or you are the hostess at home

The number one mistake that women make with their holiday make up is that they go overboard. Many women think that because they are going to a fancy event and they are dressed up, their make up should be dramatic event. This usually creates a make up malfunction and makes you look tacky. Wearing heavy make up with a dressy outfit is distracting and takes away from both your make up and your clothes.

Focus on one thing. If you're wearing an outfit that's sparkly and shimmery, you don't want to add too much shimmer with your make up. Instead, use a more neutral eyeshadow in brown, gray, tan or beige. Matte eyeshadow is great because the color looks good on the eye and it doesn't have any glitter. If your clothes are shimmery and eyes are more natural, then play up your lips with your favorite red color for a bold look. Make sure to line the lips first with a red liner that is as close in color to the lipstick as possible. If you're wearing bright colored clothing, then you're better off doing heavy make up on the eyes and not the lips.

If you want to have dramatic eyes instead, then you'll have to forgo the red lipstick for that occasion. A basic rule of thumb is to only play up the eyes or the lips, but never both. Even for festive occasions during the holidays, too much make up will make you look tacky and overdone.

Smokey eyes are great for the holidays. Dramatic eyes look great with any outfit, but most especially with a top in a bright color like red. First, decide which shade of eyeshadow you want. If you're wearing a bright color in your outfit then you want to go with a neutral color like brown or gray. But if you're already wearing neutral colors, you can wear any color eyeshadow, like purple, pink or gold. Eyeshadow is great to get from a cosmetics wholesaler. You can get a bunch of different colors and its much cheaper than in stores.

Match a few eyeshadows that would look good blended together. Put the base color on your entire eyelid. Then with an applicator brush or your ring finger, apply a darker color in the same shade on the outer crease of your eyelid. You can also put another lighter color on the inside crease. Now take an eyeliner (black or dark brown are best) and carefully draw a line on your eyelid. You want to make sure your eyeliner has a smudge brush on the end. Use the smudge brush to make the smokey eye. With this kind of dramatic eye, a basic lipgloss is best.

Getting wholesale cosmetics from a cosmetics wholesaler such as wholesalefashionsquare.com is a cheaper and easier way of getting quality make up straight to your door.

Winter Make Up Tips For A Flawless Face

Winter Make Up Tips For A Flawless Face
Winter Make Up Tips For A Flawless Face

By Ellen Tarnapolsky

With the summer months behind us, winter comes with a new feel entirely. Say goodbye to your bright summer shades and welcome the glow that winter brings. The winter months bring an atmosphere or warm, luscious tones that may be too dark for summertime. Your skin care routine should also step up a notch in the cold winter months. Have fun with your make up this winter by following a few simple tips and tricks for a flawless winter face.

If you're unsure of wearing red lipstick throughout the year, then this is the time to have fun with it! Red, burgundy and dark pink lipstick is perfect for the winter. Dark lips are especially nice on light complexions. So if your skin is pale, then winter is your season to experiment. Match your favorite red lipstick with a lip liner for a perfect red lip. If you're not a pro at using red lipstick and are afraid it will smudge, use a matte lipstick without any gloss.

Make sure your lips are well moisturized underneath the lipstick, though. There's nothing more unsightly than red lipstick on top of dry lips.

If red lipstick is not for you, try other warm tones such as mauve or berry. Experiment with different shades until you find what works for you. Buy several different colors from a cosmetics wholesaler so you don't have to spend a lot while you're in your experimental stage.

Experiment with different color mascaras. You know that blue or purple mascara you always wanted to wear but were too afraid people would think it's weird? Well this is the time to do it! This winter colored mascara is very fashionable, so try out different colors such as burgundy, navy and auburn. They give a great allure to the eyes without being too dramatic. All you need is a few strokes for a subtle hint of color.

If you're always using black eyeliner, try something different this winter. Just like mascara, different color eye liners are very in this winter. Try colors like jungle green, dark navy or chocolate brown. These colors look great with a small amount of shimmer eyeshadow.

Silver eyeshadow is great for wintertime. Use a silver or white eyeshadow with soft black liner for contrast. This look goes great with red lips!

If lipstick isn't for you, try tinted lip balms. They give a subtle color to the lip without being over the top, and they don't smudge. Find different warm colors this winter like honey, berry and red currant tones. These are also good to buy as wholesale cosmetics.

Use bronzer on your face. You don't need as much as you would wear in the summer, but a small amount of bronzer on your cheeks will give you a nice shine.

Dark nail polish is always a hit in the cold winter months. Try burgundy, navy blue and dark purple this winter.

Have fun with your make up this winter and experiment with different shades and colors. Go to a cosmetics wholesaler and get wholesale cosmetics such as eyeshadow, lipstick and more. Wholesalefashionsquare.com is a great place to find good quality make up at very affordable rates.

Creating a Christmas Gifts Shopping Plan

Creating a Christmas Gifts Shopping Plan

Creating a Christmas Gifts Shopping Plan

By Steven Dime

Christmas gifts shopping should be taken seriously these days. Spending money randomly without a plan will most likely cause a big chaos and you will end up with gifts that are not needed and people who are left without a present for the Christmas holidays.

Creating a shopping plan is the easiest way to avoid all those issues. It is easy but will surely take some of your time. Remember, this is time well spent and in most cases you will save money and troubles.

There are a few important steps when creating a Christmas shopping plan.

1. Setting a budget.

Christmas holidays is one of the most cost intensive celebration after a wedding. The only difference is that it is every year. Setting a limit to the expenses will help you select the right gifts and prevent over charging your credit card. When I set my limit, I decide how much I want to spend and subtract 15 % which are left aside as a reserve. At the end I always end up spending them too.

2. Creating a list of people you are going to buy gifts for.

Start with your family and close friends. Then continue with your coworkers and hobby buddies. At this point you should be done, right? Wrong! Now think about last Christmas. Who gave you a gift and you didn't have anything to give back? Now decide if there is some one else to add to the list.

From this point on I might want to keep you list private. Many people might get offended if you are going to spend more money for some body else.

3. Setting budget individually.

When your list is ready you will have to set a limit for each person. This will help you narrow down the gifts you can buy for that person.

4. Gathering gift ideas.

Having at least three or four ideas for each person will save you time when you start shopping. There are many sites that have gathered interesting and unique ideas for Christmas gifts. Browse a few and you should be able to find the best match for the people in your list. Make sure you also invest some time in investigating the people in order to avoid buying presents that they don't already have or ones that they don't like. You can also ask a direct question, depending on your relations with them.

5. Shopping.

There are a few things you should consider when doing your Christmas shopping.

Buying online will save you the running from store to store while trying to find the items from your list. Select one or two retailers where you can buy most of the things in one order will save you time and shipping expenses. Most of the online stores also have filters where you can enter your per person limits. At the end you will know exactly how much you are going to spend.

Don't forget the 15 % you set aside in the first step. If you were able to keep that amount untouched now is the time to decide what to do with it. Most of the times I choose between two options - buy more Christmas gifts for the kids or leave it aside for unexpected expenses or people to buy presents for.

I hope my Christmas shopping plan will help you select the best Christmas Gifts for 2011. Although it looks quite complicated, once you start you will see that following it is easy and even fun. And remember, Christmas gifts for the kids is the most important part of your shopping plan.

Shopping For Unique Champagne

Shopping For Unique Champagne
Shopping For Unique Champagne

By Micheal Richards

If you're a newbie to buying champagne, it can be daunting to choose one, as there seems to be so many choices available. If you are giving champagne as a gift though, buying just any champagne bottle won't do. To stand out, why not give them a personalised bottle of champagne, engraved with your wishes, instead? However, before we move on to that, let's first learn to choose a bottle of champagne.

A Beginners Guide to Champagne

To buy the right champagne to suit your needs, it's necessary to understand the various categories that a particular champagne can fall under. Let's have a quick look at these categories.

The first category is brand. Different champagnes come under different brands, depending on where they were made. If you want to buy good quality champagne, I suggest you go for the original brand of champagne, which comes from the region of Champagne in France. The taste of their champagne is rich and unbeatable.

The second category is flavour. Champagne can have one of six different flavours: extra brut, brut, extra dry, sec, demi-sec, and doux. The order I have mentioned is from very dry to very sweet. Since you are buying a gift, it would be helpful to know the preference of the person you are gifting it to.

The third category is the type. You can opt for vintage or non-vintage champagne, depending on your tastes and budget. If a champagne bottle is labelled as the vintage of a particular year, that means 80% of the grapes used to make the champagne were harvested in that particular year. This leads to uniform fermentation and a richer, purer taste.

The fourth category is bottle size. This category speaks for itself.

Personalising a Bottle of Champagne

Once you have chosen the type of champagne you want, you can now browse online for sellers who sell personalised bottles of champagne for any event. Tell them the type of champagne you want, and choose a design for them to engrave on your champagne bottle. Include your wishes and even the date if you wish. This part is pretty much up to your creativity.

Once your personalised bottle is ready, it will be sent to your address where you can then take it to the person you are gifting it to. I'm sure it will be a very pleasant surprise for them. What's more, they can even keep the bottle now as a decoration for their home. Now that's what you call a multi-purpose, value for money gift.

Homemade Gifts for Men

Homemade Gifts for Men

Homemade Gifts for Men

By Chrish N. Warne

With today's economy, many people are cutting back on many things, from going out to eat, vacations and shopping for luxuries. With the holidays coming along, many people are thinking of cutting back on gifts. Of course, that doesn't mean you have to give less, it only means you have to spend less on gifts this year. There are many ways to cut back, but perhaps the best way would be to make your own gifts. It's easy to see how your girlfriends would love that homemade necklace or potpourri, but what about the guys? Don't worry, there are many homemade gifts for men you can give this year, and here are some ideas.

Food

Someone once said "they way to a man's heart is through his stomach" and so food can make great homemade gifts for men. If you know how to bake, then all you need is some time and the right ingredients for some homemade cookies. If you don't, then that shouldn't stop you. You can learn from a recipe, and online video or ask a friend - there's many ways you can learn to make a batch of chocolate chip cookies and package them nicely.

If you're really untalented in the kitchen or perhaps you don't have access to a good kitchen, then that doesn't mean you can't give homemade food gifts for men. You can go to a wholesale club or farmer's market and bulk purchase non-perishables like nuts or pickles and package them into individual bottles and give them away.

Knitwear

If you're talented with a pair of knitting needles, then you can create some nice homemade gifts for men. A nice sweater might take some time, but it's a wonderful present anyone would love to receive. If you don't have much time, then small items like scarves and socks are easier to make and won't take too long. Of course, you can also personalize your knit items depending on the person. For example, you can make knit golf club holders for the golf lover, or maybe a nice pair of cooking mittens for the guy who love to grill.

Personalized Homemade Gifts

The great thing about making your own gifts is that you can further personalize it. For example, you can give a new father a nice framed photo of his kid, to hang at home or put on his desk at work. For the gadget lover, you can sew some one of a kind gadget holders, like iPad and cellphone sleeves. For the wine lovers, you can make a corkboard made of wine corks.
