Bashing the New Year with 3 Quickest Tips to have Longer Eyelash

Bashing the New Year with 3 Quickest Tips to have Longer Eyelash

Author: Ashley Monroe

In this world, only a few women do not dream of having more captivating, stronger and longer eyelash. This is particularly true for those ladies who are getting prepared for the coming celebrations for the New Year's Eve. Every woman would like to look bashing and extraordinary for this special event and have seductively long lashes so they can playfully bat them at the other party goers, something as essential as choosing the perfect dress. Here are some of the quickest tips to have you fuller and longer eyelash in no time.

Vitamins for Your Lashes

The most usual fast fix for sparse and short eyelashes is drenching them in cosmetic formulation that can visibly increase their length and thickness. While this might be an effective way of instantly getting longer eyelash, this might actually have some dramatic impact on your lash line's health when you failed to pair it with the correct beauty and health habits. It is highly essential for you to know that most of such formulations, particularly those that are waterproof, can make your lash line dry and cause your eyelashes to fall out or break off when overused. Instead of overloading your eyelashes with products that can make them dry, it will be a better choice to moisturize and soothe your lash line using an eyelash conditioner rich in vitamins. These agents for conditioning can restore the eyelash growth through giving the needed nutrients.

Proper Diet and Regular Exercise

Most of the latest and highly innovative treatments that help in having longer eyelash consider that majority of the aspect that affects the eyelash growth happen from within. Although you might get some external applications that can address the problem, it is still better to back them up with an exercise plan and healthy diet. An increased exercise can stimulate toxin removal and proper circulation.

Beauty Routine Alteration

If you have been too focused on having longer eyelash, chances are you are just creating your own problem. Too much use of false lashes and eyelash curlers can have a very negative effect on the health of your lashes. For this reason, it will always be best to simply limit their usage and to go for more advantageous tools, like eyelash conditioner and the special brushes that can give you the look that you want without the need to make your lash line stressed out.

These are just some of the quickest tips to help you have longer eyelash that can make your New Year's Eve celebration and big blast!

Top 10 Mobile Battery Saving Tips

Top 10 Mobile Battery Saving Tips

Author: jackwu

If you're expecting a call and your battery icon starts blinking, the first thing you should do is find a charger. But if that's not an option, here are ten things you can do to hang on. We'll skip the usual tips about the 'memory effect' and which battery type is better — NiCd or Li-Ion — because you don't really have a choice in that.

Close Background Applications

If you're using a Smartphone, close applications that you don't need. Applications that stay active in the background use up a bit of CPU, which uses up battery. Make sure you 'exit' the applications from the menu, not by pressing the 'End' key, as that merely puts the application in the background. In Series 60 Smartphones (mostly Nokias), hold down the 'Menu' key to get a list of all applications running in the background to close them. In Windows Mobile 5 phones, open the 'Memory' application and check the 'Running programs' tab to close them.

Turn Down Screen Brightness

The screen is one of the most power-consuming parts of the mobile phone. The lower the brightness, the lesser power it needs. Keep it as low as you can, so long as you can still see it! Also, some phones like the E61 and the BlackBerry Pearl come with auto-adjust features that increase the brightness in brightly lit areas and dim it in low-light areas. If you're setting the brightness low, make sure that auto-adjust is turned off.

Don't Use Animated Wallpapers or Screensavers

The animations in wallpapers and screensavers can drain a bit of battery as they also consume a wee bit of CPU. Turn them off.

Turn Off Keypad Lights

If you've been using the phone for a while, you may be able to use the keys without seeing them. If this is the case, the keypad backlight can be turned off. However, not a lot of phones support this, but it's worth considering if your phone does.

Decrease Screen Standby Time Out

The time till your screen dims out and/or gets turned off is configurable in most phones. 10 seconds is good, 5 seconds is better. Set it as low as you can go without it becoming inconvenient.

Turn Off Vibration Probably

the second most power-consuming feature of any mobile phone is the built-in vibration alert. See if you can do without it.

Turn Down Ringer Volume, Keypad Tones and Speaker During Calls

If you're mostly indoors, like in the office or at home, a low ringer volume can go a bit towards saving your cell phone battery. Most phones also have DTMF-like keypad tones, which are not necessary if the keypad has decent tactile feedback. I keep them turned off most of the time — you can try it too. Volume of the earpiece when you're on a call can also be lowered, and that helps too.

Disable Voice Clarity / EFR / Voice Privacy

Almost all phones now do Enhanced Full Rate (EFR) for voice communication that consumes a little more power. In most cases, the enhanced quality of EFR doesn't make a difference thanks to the high noise levels in our city. Keep it off, you probably won't miss it. Some phones (mostly Samsungs) have a 'voice privacy' feature which can also be turned off to save A1175 Battery.

Turn off 3G / GPRS / EDGE

Most 3G/UMTS/WCDMA phones keep searching for 3G coverage by default. In India, they'll keep searching till 2008, draining your battery, so go to the network selection screen and choose GSM-only. If your phone has a secondary camera near the screen, it's a 3G phone. Check your phone's specs on the website if you aren't sure. Sometimes, even regular GPRS or EDGE connections stay active in the back, so make sure you specifically disconnect when you're done browsing the web.

Use Bluetooth and WiFi Only

While Transferring If you only use Bluetooth occasionally to transfer files to and from other devices, there's probably no point keeping it on all the time. Most phones only come with an on/off setting for Bluetooth, unlike the 'Turn on for 10 minutes' setting available for Infrared in some phones (mostly Sony Ericssons). People tend to forget about Bluetooth being left on after transferring the file — avoid doing this. Same goes for WiFi, if you're phone has that.

Here's another tip — find a USB cable if your phone supports recharging via USB.The Motorola RAZR/KRZR/SLVRs and most Windows Mobile Smartphones have a standard miniUSB slot that can use the same cable as most digital cameras. You're more likely to find one of these lying around somewhere than a charger for your phone, unless it's a Nokia, of course. Finally, the last tip is not very recommendable, but it is something to consider if you've tried everything else above: don't use the phone too much. Of course, you can't use the camera and media features (most Samsung phones won't even let you, if the Eee PC 1000 Battery is low) but you can also be a bit choosy while answering incoming calls — not all of them need to be answered. This is even more true in case of unknown numbers!

Spaghetti Carbonara Recipe

Spaghetti Carbonara Recipe

Spaghetti Carbonara Recipe

By Antonio Katende

Spaghetti alla Carbonara is a dish whose birth is relatively recent, however, whose origins are not at all certain.

Four assumptions are circulating, as none is more credited than the others, everyone can choose between them.

Yes or No?

The original recipe for spaghetti alla carbonara has about 200 kcal per 100 grams, so it's definitely not a recipe, that can not sated enough, unless you take too many calories and hence weight gain. As for the amatriciana, however, the pillow is not a food to be deleted, and can indeed be effectively used to prepare recipes, along with eggs and cheese, but in the right proportions and especially with the addition of vegetables to increase the fill the pot. Thus he created the recipe for spaghetti alla carbonara.

Origin of spaghetti alla carbonara

The first dates back to the so-called spaghetti alla carbonara carbinai, people in the woods produced by burning coal, burning slow. That argument does not hold for many, provided that job away from home lasting one season and the eggs were right for such long periods without preservation techniques.

The second argument assumes that the carbonara was invented by a chef who was a member of the Carbonari, the group of revolutionaries who fought against the Austrian occupation of northern Italy, active from the end of '700 and Guarro Italian independence.

According to the third case, particularly evocative, the story of this dish dates back to 1945 when American troops entered Rome at the end of World War II. When they went in asking Roman trattoria for lunch eggs, bacon and noodles, the typical Chinese noodles, then much in vogue in America than Italian. The chefs met the Romans in their request serving bacon, fried eggs and a plate of spaghetti unseasoned and bland result. To remedy this situation the American soldiers all mixed up, creating, unbeknownst to them, the ancestor of the famous dish.

A final hypothesis dates back to the pot Neapolitan origins, to be exact to the Duke of Buonvicino Ippolito Cavalcanti, publisher in 1837 of "The theoretical and practical kitchen." It would appear that in the very first edition of this book appeared a recipe very similar to what we know today.

As for the amatriciana, even spaghetti carbonara are the subject of endless wrangling among fans of the kitchen. The argument here hinges on the type of fat used (bacon or bacon?) And especially the presence or absence of egg whites, egg and baking on the use of cream, and finally on the quality of the cheese.

Spaghetti alla carbonara in the egg does not cook but only thicken slightly, then it should never exceed 70 degrees, not to reach the temperature of coagulation of the yolk. Fundamental then add after turning off the flame and seasoned with spaghetti sauce, stir quickly and serve immediately to prevent the dough from becoming too cold. The cream is recommended in many recipes because, when added in small quantities, it helps not to curdle the egg and adds creaminess to the dish.

The recommended amount of eggs from one to head to one for every two people, many recommend that you use only the yolk, others only remove half of egg whites, and others to keep only one fourth of egg whites.

In our view, the whites are needed to make the sauce more creamy, so we think that 4 people can use either 2 eggs or 2 eggs and 2 yolks.

In our opinion, the recipe for spaghetti alla carbonara should consider using a good bacon, very difficult to find high quality, perhaps only in Trentino or Ireland, where they produce a smoked bacon at a low temperature (not aged) perfect this dish. Those who are not able to obtain these culinary gems, will not fall back on a craft or bacon on a good pillow, easier to find.

The cheese of choice is the Pecorino Romano, but the recipe comes out well with good parmesan cheese or sheep's milk cheese and other cheeses.

The recipe for spaghetti alla carbonara

Ingredients for 4 people:

  • 400 g of spaghetti;

  • 150 g of bacon;

  • 30 g pecorino romano

  • 2 eggs

  • Salt and pepper;

Preparation: Cut the bacon into cubes and cook over low heat in a nonstick saucepan of 18-20 cm, until it became transparent and did not release its fat. Beat eggs in a bowl and mix well with plenty of grated pecorino cheese and ground pepper. Boil pasta in salted water, then put it in a large bowl and season it with the pillow with her fat, then add eggs and mix quickly. until the dough is evenly seasoned. Serve immediately.

New Year's Makeup: How to Make It Last All Evening

New Year's Makeup: How to Make It Last All Evening

New Year's Makeup: How to Make It Last All Evening

By Christina A. Jefferson

New Year's Eve - it's a time for shedding old limitations and stepping into a new, more fabulous version of you! However, one thing you don't want to shed as you trot from soiree to soiree is your makeup. With smudgy, melting makeup, ladies end up looking bedraggled and tired at midnight, just when they should be looking their best for that magical first kiss of the New Year.

The tips we've gathered below will keep your makeup looking fresh all night long. Throughout, we'll focus on two of our favorite makeup designers: PAUL & JOE BEAUTE and Jemma Kid Makeup School.

Apply Primer

Primers are mainly known for their ability to even out rough skin. Primers can also nourish sensitive skin or absorb excess oil, depending on the formula. But did you know primers are also great for keeping your makeup in place for a long time? Because primer is an extra layer between makeup and your skin, it helps your product stay in place - and what's more, you will use less product if you apply a primer first. (Without a primer, your skin absorbs much of your makeup.)

We recommend choosing a multi-tasking primer that you'll be able to use every day of the New Year. Skin Rescue Bio-Complex Veil by Jemma Kidd Makeup School includes an SPF of 15 to prevent sun wrinkles. It also acts as a moisturizer, illuminator, tint and prep formula.

Go Bright or Go Nude

Even with a primer, your makeup will inevitably fade over the course of the long evening. Knowing this, it's wise to either choose a nude makeup palette or bright, eye-catching colors. Nudes will change subtly over the evening, while bright colors will still pop as the wee hours approach.

As for nude-toned eye products that will last, we suggest PAUL & JOE BEAUTE's Eye Gloss Duo. One stick of eye lacquer contains two tints - for a nude New Year's palette, Silver Lining is a wonderful combination that includes a very light beige as well as a silver tone. This product will add glamour and glitter all night long.

Be Selective About Your Retouching

Of course, most ladies deal with long New Year's rendezvous by touching up their makeup over the course of the evening. The challenge in this approach is taking the right items to make your look really pop, without toting around every single product in your makeup bag.

For those who go with the bright New Year's Eve palette, the one item to carry is lipstick. It's light, easy to apply and creates a put-together look. Red Ribbon lipstick by PAUL & JOE BEAUTE is the perfect shade for a colorful New Year's Eve. Its rich cranberry tone will make you look like a vintage Hollywood starlet.

Use Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner

Another reason to carry lipstick is because it will certainly come off as you eat and drink the night away. The same is true for your eye makeup. To offset this tendency, makeup experts recommend taking the time before you go out to create a cat-eye look with waterproof liquid eyeliner. There's a reason why celebrities like Rhiannon and Angelina Jolie wear this style of eye makeup style for long awards ceremonies - mainly because it stays sexy for hours and hours.

However, if you haven't created a cat-eye look before, it can be very challenging to use liquid eyeliner. No problem - just use a waterproof pencil eyeliner instead! Jemma Kidd Makeup School's Definite Stay-Put Eye Liner is the perfect product for a New Year's cat-eye. It is completely smudge-proof and waterproof, and it contains antioxidant vitamin E.

If you are comfortable applying a cat-eye with liquid eyeliner, why not add a bit more sparkle? Again, Jemma Kidd Makeup School has the perfect product - Crushed Jewel Gel Liner, available in a smoky onyx or stunning azure aquamarine.

Create Luscious Lashes: Apply Waterproof Eyelash Tint

No cat-eye looks normal without pumped up lashes, so be sure to apply a waterproof, long-lasting mascara after curling your lashes. If you're planning on partying the night away, go one step further and apply an eyelash tint, such as the semi-permanent tint offered by Jemma Kidd Makeup School. Available in black and brown, this product will stay in place for up to 24 hours without flaking or smudging.

If you follow these suggestions, your makeup will remain in place even after the ball drops at midnight.

Top Men's Watches Trends in 2012!

Top Men's Watches Trends in 2012!

Top Men's Watches Trends in 2012!

By Joanne Dadd

Want to know if your timepiece is good enough according to the fashion turns expected in 2012? Will that metal strap do or you will have to get that black strap? Read on for more.

An accessory that never goes out of style for men is a watch. A wrist watch has seen many design evolutions over time and at present the trends for 2012 are in focus. What will be in fashion next year can be more or less determined from what the celebrities are wearing. So here are the expected trends for you in a nutshell:

1. Digital watches are in - In fact these watches are the new chronograph. Retro digital watches are all set to make a comeback. We may also see GMT and alarm watches too.

2. Smaller case sizes will gain prominence. At the Basal World 2011 conference, the trend was noted. In 2012, smaller case sizes will be used in watch design. The thinning process is expected to stretch to watch straps too, as they will be flattened out by a couple of millimeters.

3. Stainless Watches will remain good. Yes, your stainless steel watch will still be fashionable in 2012, but will have more colors to it. Designers have forecast the use of colors like green, purple and orange to be used in the most stylish of steel watches. Color not your style? Then you can choose from subtle shades like charcoal, brown, and the always popular color - black.

4. Softer Designs- The trend experts have predicted that the year 2012 will see restrained styles with better defined exteriors and softer lines. A sort of vintage fused with contemporary. These designs will appeal to both men and women!

Other fashion gurus have pointed out that in the coming year, as far as men's watches are concerned, the 'Work and Play' type will be really in. So if you want to go to the gym in between meetings, get one of those watches for yourself. They are in. Oversize watches are still a favorite among celebrities and will remain so the next year. If you are the type that would like a large silicone watch, then give yourself one for the new year.

The classic style-leather bands watch is a safe option that is good to go this year too. Just keep up with the colors of the season like brown and gold and classic leather bands. Perfect for office wear if you want to pull off a distinguished look at work in 2012!

If you are into casuals and like a 'rock star' look, then get one of those edge and attitude style watches. These have oversize bands that blend in with the casual attire and give you an edgy appeal. Carry them off well in the coming year, if you can!

As a parting tip, in 2012, you must get yourself a stainless watch with black styling. These black watches give you a contemporary and urban look and style. The black band and the multiple features on the face of the timepiece are an attractive combination that gives the watch a complex and important look. The best part is they go well with office attire as well as with a casual dress up. So now you know what works for 2012, as far as watches are concerned. Pick the trend you like, and enter the new year in pace with style!

The author of this article recommends TimePieces USA, the leading supplier of jewelery and ladies and men's luxury watches.

Top Five Steps to Looking Hot, Even When It's Cold

Top Five Steps to Looking Hot, Even When It's Cold

Top Five Steps to Looking Hot, Even When It's Cold

By Lauren E Mackay

1. AVOID SLEEVELESS AND STRAPLESS DRESSES

This doesn't mean that you can't sport a great body-hugging mini, just make sure it's long sleeved. Long sleeved dresses are this season's hottest trend. If you do go strapless, pair it with a great blazer and close-toed shoes. Blazers go great with sleeveless dresses because you can leave them on past the coat check (unlike a heavy coat), and by all means, leave it on! Parading around in a tiny dress in the dead of winter screams that you're trying way too hard, not a good look.

2. TRADE IN YOUR JEANS FOR LEGGINGS

Spruce up your look by ditching the jeans and going with a hot pair of leggings. Leggings are way in this season, and go with just about any top. I love sexing up a t-shirt with leggings and a hot pair of heels, it's a totally flattering look while remaining casual. Or do it big and pair them with a long sleeved, low-cut top. Go for a pair with cut outs or a cool design to add extra flavor to your get up.

3. VAMP UP THE MAKEUP

Winter is our time to play up the makeup! Unlike over the summer, it won't melt off. Plus, since the cold temperature causes you to cover up more, you won't run the risk of looking cheap like you would over the summer in your barely there outfits. So go for the smoky eyes, bright liners and red lips! Which brings me to my next point...

4. GO RED

Switch up the blacks and browns and go for seductive, sexy red. The change of pace is a great way to stand out in the winter. Instead of the Little Black Dress, go for the Little Red Dress and pair it with a form-fitting black jacket. Just don't overdo it. If your main piece is red, leave it out of the accessories. I usually tie in a couple of red accessories with an all black outfit, like a red shoe and red lip, or a red purse and red shoe. Or I'll wear a sultry red dress with black accessories and warm makeup.

5. GET A PAIR OF THIGH HIGH BOOTS

Thigh high boots are the epitome of hot! They sex up turtlenecks, sweaters, jackets and just about any piece of bulky, warm winter clothing. Pair them with a loose sweater dress or casual long sleeved shirt and jeans. Trust me, they will not disappoint! When I wear thigh high boots, I get approached by about 3 times as many people--men and women alike--on the basis of complimenting my boots! Great conversation starter.

I hope this helps! The keys to dressing for winter are playing up makeup and accessories, and sticking with form-fitting clothing that don't show off too much of the goods. Just make sure that when you're showing off your legs to cover your arms!

Top 5 Best Things to Buy Vintage (and Where to Find Them)

Top 5 Best Things to Buy Vintage (and Where to Find Them)

Introducing vintage pieces into your wardrobe can turn you into an instant trendsetter. But what pieces should you buy vintage? And where do you find them? As a vintage clothing connoisseur I'm constantly having friends ask me… "Where did you get that?" and "Why can't I find things like that?". It took me a while to find out the answers to those questions and I understand your frustration.

After researching vintage clothing for months and then finally going out to stock up for my website, I'd like to share with you the best items to buy vintage, and where to find them for a great price.

5. Boyfriend Watches- I can't tell you how much I love vintage boyfriend watches. There is nothing more adorable than a girl with a big gold boyfriend watch. Guys love a girl in a boyfriend watch, I've done the research. I wear them with everything from jeans and vintage t shirt to cocktail attire.

Where to Find Them- There are a few places to get these. The best place is estate sales (find them on estatesales.net). The second best place for this is little local thrift stores. Look for watches with stretchy bands so you don't have to go get them fitted to you. But if you get one that needs to be taken in it's fine, because when you go to get the battery changed they will most likely be able to fit it there. You should be able to find one for less than $10.

4. High Waisted Skirts (Pencil Skirts)- Oh my 'gosh', I die for high waisted skirts. Pencil skirts work really well for people like me with small waists and huge 'behinds'. If you wear a pencil skirt just make sure you either have a small belly or good Spanx. Pencil skirts look amazing with boxy tops and tall stilettos. Great for if you want to look extra hot at the office.

Where to Find Them- Again there are a few places to find these. Your best bet again is estate sales. Mainly because women from back in the day knew a lot more how to dress subtly sexy. Another great place to find these is on eBay. My favorite vintage pencil designer is Ungaro, so search that on eBay and see where else it leads you. If this is your first pencil skirt get black or Ungaro makes AMAZING black/white patterns. At an estate sale you can usually get them for around $5, on eBay be ready to pay $30-$40.

3. Boots- My vintage Frye Boots are probably the number one thing vintage I get complemented on. They are to the knee, and a yummy orange/brown color. And you want to know where I got them? Goodwill, for $5. Mind you, I got really lucky, but it can happen. I love vintage boots because they can turn a normal skinny jeans and tee day into something much more FABULOUS.

Where to Find Them- Big thrift stores like Goodwill are the best place to find vintage boots. Other good places to find them are local vintage boutiques and antique stores, but get ready to dish out $100-$300. In thrift stores you can get them for $30 or less.

2. Tops- I ONLY wear vintage tops. Why? Because you can buy every level of fanciness vintage. For days just running to the store, I turn to vintage tees. For the office, I am OBSESSED with boxy short sleeved tops and crazy printed long sleeved tops. Just make sure if you are rocking a crazy vintage printed top, to keep everything else kind of minimal.

Where to Find Them- Vintage tops are pretty easy to find. Little thrift stores and big thrift stores are your best bet as far as price. You can usually get them for $1-$2. Estate sales are also a good place to check. If you don't want to search the racks yourself check out vintage boutiques online. You can usually find them for $20 or less.

1. Bags- Bags are my favorite thing to buy and collect vintage. Why? Because they are all so different, so much more well made than todays bags for the most part. Sometimes it can be hard to find bags that are well kept, but they are worth the search.

Where to Find Them- Vintage bags are a little trickier to find, at least to find in good shape. The best place is estate sales. The next best place to look is online. Google vintage shopping online or check on etsy.

Anyone can wear vintage, it's all about finding the right pieces that go with your personal style. If you are willing to put in the time, you can find tons of amazing vintage clothing for almost nothing! And then people will be asking you for advice on where to shop vintage.

Chocolate Mousse - The Best Dessert For The Guest And Family

Chocolate Mousse - The Best Dessert For The Guest And Family

Author: Mark Bennett

The craving for chocolate mousse does not seem to reduce for many people. The very sight of the dark chocolate immersed in the mousse makes you go for it at any cost. The feeling of the chocolate mousse melting in your mouth as your taste buds relish it is inexplicable.

Chocolate mousse is the specialty in French restaurants and it became a part of the American culture during the 1960's. Every household in US devours this dish with great delight and has become a well enjoyable dessert for guests and families. The word 'mousse' is derived from French which means lather or foam as this dish uses air bubbles to get the light and airy texture, making it soft and fluffy. Usually a mousse can be prepared by using chocolate or other exotic fruits like strawberry, pineapple as also pureed fruits like applesauce and mashed banana.

You can have unexpected guests at your door steps or maybe the need to prepare a dessert at dinnertime. Serving chocolate mousse is the best option as it is quiet easy to prepare and tasty to eat. What makes this dish a good entertaining dessert is that it looks great and everyone can have as much as they want. There is no limit on the number of quantities that is served as it is quite liked and relished by everyone.

Preparing a chocolate mousse is easy, and doesn't take a lot of time. You can make it a day before or a few hours before you serve. The ingredients are quite easy and are found in normal convenience stores. Most people use milk chocolate or bittersweet chocolate to prepare a chocolate mousse. The one thing I like to use is a less bittersweet chocolate i.e. dark chocolate because if you want to enjoy the chocolate you need to experience the taste of the cocoa.

Using the sweet chocolate will not give you the taste of the cocoa, which is what makes the chocolate irresistible. If you want to enjoy the true experience of chocolate mousse, always use a dark chocolate.

Just a few days back on my TV connected to Dish Network, I was watching the show Nigella's Kitchen. The main dish of the show was a dark chocolate mousse and I was very much excited to see the dish being prepared and found it hard to resist writing down the ingredients. To make a chocolate mousse is simple and easy.

You would need the following things - four and a half ounces of finely chopped bittersweet chocolate (I prefer using dark chocolates instead), two tablespoons of unsalted butter, two tablespoons of espresso or strong coffee (you can use the decaf espresso from the local Starbucks), one cup of heavy cream, three large eggs (separate the white and the yolks) and one tablespoon of sugar.

First what you need to do is whip the cream and store it into the refrigerator. Then take the chocolate, butter and espresso and mix them into a boiler of hot but not simmering water. Stir the ingredients frequently until they become smooth. After that allow the chocolate mixture to cool down but not below the room temperature. Once the chocolate mixture has cooled slightly, take another bowl and whip the egg white in it until it becomes foamy and begins to have a shape. Then sprinkle some sugar on it and beat it until it becomes soft.

Now take the chocolate mixture and stir the yolks into it. Then gently add one third of the whipped cream which was kept in the refrigerator and stir it for some time. Fold in half of the egg whites into the chocolate mixture until the mixture becomes soft and then fold in the remaining whites and at last the remaining whipped cream into the mixture.

Now your chocolate mousse is ready. Serve it into a serving bowl or individual dish with a spoon. If you want you can layer the mousse with fresh raspberries and whipped cream. Refrigerate the chocolate mousse at least for eight hours or even for a day.

Tips for Finding the Perfect Pair of Women's Office Shoes

Tips for Finding the Perfect Pair of Women's Office Shoes

Author: Nicole Roberts

You've got plenty of gorgeous shoes, but are they office friendly? Your goal in the work environment is to project a professional image, no matter what position you hold. So, what exactly should you look for in a pair of women's office shoes?

Rule#1: Never sacrifice comfort. Often times, a pair of women's office shoes are hard to find, especially ones that are comfortable. Moreover, women tend to choose ones that appeal to their eyes and not to their feet. First thing's first, you must keep in mind that most office women will be in their shoes for at least eight hours a day and let's face it girls…normally we move around on our feet a lot more and often a lot faster on our feet! Therefore, it is important to consider a few things:

  1. Padding and Support: Both of these need to be good quality to ensure comfort and to avoid foot related health problems (calluses, hammertoe, and toe & heel pain). Essentially, shoes with support will allow the foot muscles to work less, leading to more comfort.

  2. Shoe Size/Fitting: Make sure the pair of shoes fit both of your feet. One of your feet may be bigger than the other, so it is important to try on both sides before making a purchase. Can you imagine having one shoe being too big, creating blisters, or one too small, cramming your toes? Both are just as uncomfortable. The rule of thumb is to allow at least a thumb's width of wiggle space for your toes.

  3. Shoe Width: Allow enough space for your feet so that your heel and ankle are not rubbing against the inside of the shoe.

Rule#2: Shop within your budget, but don't overlook the small details. You don't have to go out and splurge your money on an expensive pair of women's office shoes; likewise, it doesn't mean going with the cheapest pair you find either. Majority of the time, the amount of money you put in the pair of shoes reflects the quality. However, with a little bit of research, you can find a pair that matches your style and preference at a discounted price. Consider purchasing shoes online or at stores like Nordstrom Rack, Kohls or even TJ Maxx. You can find reasonably priced brand name shoes at these locations. Keep the following details in mind:

  1. Regardless of the brand you choose, it is always good to look out for poorly sewn seams or cracked leather. These are usually clear signs that low quality materials are used.

  2. The inner soles should always offer cushioned support.

  3. The shoe should only bend at the ball of your foot.

  4. The midsole should be firm but still be able to absorb shock.

  5. The shape of the shoe must match your foot. For instance, if you have wide feet, make sure to purchase shoes that fit the width of your feet, otherwise the shoe will be uncomfortable.

Rule#3: Consider buying more than one type of women's office shoes. Most women love shoes, so why not have a collection just for work? Having multiple pairs of office shoes is a great way to allow your feet to rest, especially if you wear heels most of the time. If you must wear heels at work, you should at least have two or three pairs to rotate, varying in height. The lower the heel, the more support and comfort you will have. Add one or more of the following types of women's office shoes to your closet and you're set:

  1. Flats. Every woman should own a few pairs of flats, especially if standing or running errands come with the job. With the increase in popularity, flats come in many styles and colors. Flats are perfect for giving your feet a break every once in a while.

  2. Kitten Heels. If you are not the type of woman that likes wearing particularly high heels, then the kitten heel is perfect for you. Kitten heels range from 1" to 2 ½" in height, just giving you the boost you need. These heels make women look elegant, yet sexy and it doesn't come with all of the health risks.

  3. Oxfords. Oxfords come in many different styles, including wedges, lace up, platform, boots, and more. This classy style originated in the 17th century and was mainly worn by men. Today, women wear oxfords for both, casual and formal occasions because of its durability and comfort.

  4. Pumps. Pumps are the most classic pair of women's office shoes. Pumps are extremely versatile, especially when it comes to wearing office attire. You can match them up with a dress, skirt, pant suit or skirt suit. Consider wearing flat pumps in the office so that your feet are free from strain and pressure.

  5. Wedge Heels. Wedge heels provide support for women, as their weight is distributed evenly throughout the shoe. Wedge heels are very stable and look very trendy. Wedge heels pair flawlessly with a skirt or dress in an office setting.

Yummy Soup Recipes You Can Make Quickly and Easily

Yummy Soup Recipes You Can Make Quickly and Easily

Yummy Soup Recipes You Can Make Quickly and Easily

By Linda Carol Wilson

Soup is one of my favorite foods. I love soups that have cooked slowly for hours but I also enjoy soups that I can throw together in a hurry and have a delicious bowl of hot soup in minutes. Here are some very tasty, easy soup recipes.

BEEFY BROCCOLI & CHEESE SOUP

2 cups chicken broth

1 pkg (10-oz) frozen chopped broccoli, thawed

1/4 cup chopped yellow onion

1/4 to 1/2 lb ground beef

1 cup milk

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

4-oz sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded

1/2 tsp oregano

salt to taste

freshly ground pepper to taste

hot pepper sauce to taste, optional

Bring the chicken broth to a boil in a medium saucepan; add broccoli and onions. Cook the mixture for 5 minutes or until the broccoli is tender.

While the above cooks, brown the ground beef in a small skillet and drain well. Rinse with hot water to rid of excess fat and drain in a colander.

Gradually stir the flour into the milk in a small bowl until well blended. Slowly stir into the broccoli mixture, add the drained beef and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture is thickened and bubbly.

Add the shredded cheese, oregano, salt, pepper, and hot sauce if using.

Yield: 4 to 5 servings

HOMEMADE CREAM OF MUSHROOM SOUP

6 tbsp butter

1 lb fresh mushrooms, chopped

1 medium yellow onion, chopped

2 tbsp cornstarch

4 cups beef bouillon

Dash of freshly ground black pepper

Pinch of nutmeg

1 1/2 cups cream

Melt butter in a large saucepan; add the onion and cook over medium heat until the onion is translucent, stirring to keep from burning. Add the mushrooms and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Blend the cornstarch into the mixture until well coated. Slowly stir in the bouillon while stirring constantly. Add the cream and bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer and cook for 5 minutes. Stir in the pepper and nutmeg.

Yield: 4 to 6 servings.

BEEFY BARLEY SOUP

1 lb boneless beef sirloin, cut into bite-size pieces

1 tbsp dried basil

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp freshly ground black pepper

1 tbsp canola oil

1 cup quick-cooking barley

1 can (14 1/2-oz) diced tomatoes with basil, oregano, and garlic (Italian-style)

1 cup peeled baby carrots sliced diagonally

1 cup low-sodium beef broth (or vegetable broth, if you prefer)

3 cups water

2 tbsp fresh chopped parsley for garnish, if desired

In a pie plate combine the basil, flour, salt, and pepper; dredge meat to coat.

Heat the canola oil over medium-high heat in a 4 to 5-quart Dutch oven; add the steak and cook until browned all over. Stir in any remaining flour mixture and continue stirring to avoid scorching. Stir in the tomatoes, including the juice, barley, carrots, broth, and water. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes until the carrots and meat are tender.

Yield: 4 servings

Note: Top each serving with a sprinkle of fresh chopped parsley leaves for garnish, if desired.

Enjoy!

5 Romantic Birthday Ideas for Your Darling

5 Romantic Birthday Ideas for Your Darling
5 Romantic Birthday Ideas for Your Darling

By Susie Davids

Your sweetie's birthday is coming up and you don't know what to do to make it special for him or her. Read on and you'll find some great tips on making your partner's birthday uber special. It's not about expensive dinners or birthday gifts you spent a month's paycheck on. Making their birthday ultra special is really about how much thought you put into what you do.

You can't necessarily put a price tag on romance. Not got a lot to spend on birthday gifts for him or her this year? The good news is you don't have to. Below you'll find five tips and suggestions for planning a romantic birthday on a budget.

5. Be specific.

Is there something your sweetie-pie loves to do? Or perhaps something they've mentioned but never tried? Whether it's skydiving or spending the afternoon fishing at a friend's lake house, pick something that suits your lover's interests. But shhhh... keep it quiet until you get there. After all, the most memorable days are the ones where you do something truly unusual.

4. Get Cooking.

Want to know one of the best - and most common - romantic birthday ideas? Concoct a yummy meal for your beloved. Cooking a meal is a great way to show you care especially if you don't do it often. In any case, the more time and effort you put in, the more romance you'll create.

3. Sacrifice something.

Perhaps one of the best birthday gifts would be to give something up. That could be a chore that he or she would love done, but one that you've never wanted to do. Something your partner loves, but that you hate with a passion. Why not spend the afternoon watching motorbike racing, playing video games or scrubbing the bathroom until it shines? When your honey sees you sacrificed something you love or did something you hate in order to make them happy, they'll feel truly smitten.

2. Celebrate them.

Perhaps one of the best birthday gift ideas of all is a day or evening of celebrating your partner's favorite things. Spend it watching their favorite movie, eating their favorite food (even if it is maggot cheese or fried tarantula!), or attempting their favorite activity to show them how well you know them. And unless your lover's favorite things are travelling on the Virgin Galactic space craft, flying in a private jet or eating at a Michelin Star restaurant, these make inexpensive birthday gifts for him or her.

1. Sweep your partner away.

Sure, if you had money on tap, you'd probably jet off to the Bahamas for the weekend. Or Paris. Or even Fiji. But if you can't, just spending one night away from home - even if it's in the same city - is a great romantic birthday idea. Spend the night at a bed and breakfast just outside the city, or even just down the street. You could even blindfold your sweetie and drive them around awhile before you arrive at your (very local!) destination.

Whether they're turning sweet sixteen or the ripe old age of eighty, Simply Personalized has a gorgeous selection of birthday gifts designed to please people of all ages. Whatever age they're celebrating, our fantastic range of birthday gifts for him and her are the ideal way to way a very Happy Birthday!

Top Shopping Destinations for 2012

Top Shopping Destinations for 2012
Top Shopping Destinations for 2012

By Farrah M Hedwat

Shopping is a language that's internationally recognised and loved no matter where you live - usually for fashion items but also homewares, antiques, food and plenty more! There are many cities that are celebrated for their fabulous shopping possibilities, so this is a (by no means exhaustive) shortlist of some of the best shopping destinations from different parts of the world:

New York - USA

No matter what part of New York you're in, you're not likely to be more than a few blocks away from a shopping opportunity, whether it's big-name brands, unique independent stores or huge malls you're looking for.

Situated right at the centre of the action, Fifth Avenue caters for every pocket as well as being conveniently placed for many of New York's sightseeing landmarks. Here you'll find heavyweights such as Louis Vuitton and Tiffany's just a short walk from high-street names like H&M and Forever 21, as well as the cavernous Abercrombie & Fitch flagship store!

New York is also home to some of the world's most famed department stores including Saks, Macy's and Bloomingdale's. Bargain-hunters can also revel in cut-rate designer fashions at Century 21 - conveniently placed for sightseers visiting Ground Zero.

If outlet shopping is your thing and you have a day to spare, you can take a one-hour bus journey out to Woodbury Common, which has over 220 stores including sportswear, designer shops, home furnishings, jewellery and loads more at knock-down prices.

Dubai - UAE

The people of Dubai love shopping so much, they even hold a festival in its honour! The annual Dubai Shopping Festival is a month-long event that attracts about 3 million tourists to Dubai every year. It began in 1996 and holds daily car raffles, nightly firework shows and countless other events, as well as massive shopping discounts and promotions, which is an even more attractive prospect when you consider that shopping in Dubai is already tax-free.

Mall-shopping is often the most practical option in Dubai, as soaring summer temperatures mean it's too hot to roam the city streets for half the year. One of the most highly recommended is The Village Mall just off Jumeirah Road, which houses a mix of unusual, unique designer shops and more popular international brands. The Mall of the Emirates is one of the city's largest shopping centres whose highlights include the world-famous indoor ski slope.

Another unmissable aspect of Dubai shopping is the Souks, which are frequented by tourists and locals alike, all doing their best to haggle for a bargain!

Milan - Italy

Milan is one of the world's fashion capitals and is synonymous with the biggest names in designer fashion such as Armani, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana and Gucci, all of whom set up their original boutiques in this city.

As Italy's top source of 'alta moda' (high fashion), Milan is home to one of the four "International Fashion Weeks". Milan fashions are seen as the epitome of chic (albeit not necessarily cheap!) - the headquarters of most of Italy's top designers are housed here, so even if you're not intending to buy, a visit to their flagship stores could be just as much considered sightseeing as shopping!

Fortunately, most of these huge names are conveniently housed in the Square made up of Via della Spiga, Montenapoleone, Manzoni and Sant'Andrea. For those travelling without the gold-plated credit card, you can find designer items slashed to half price at the 10 Corso Como Outlet. However, bargain-hunters should beware of street traders touting replica designer rip-offs.

London - England

As with any capital city, London is as much a destination for shopping trips as it is for taking in the sights. Whether you're shopping for a bespoke suit from Savile Row or something more alternative and unique from Camden Market, London's underground system can transport you round the city in a matter of minutes.

Oxford Street is a heaven for high street shopping, although the crowds and queues can be quite hellish! For a more upmarket experience, Mayfair or Knightsbridge are both home to many of the big designer names.

London is also home to Harrods, the world's most famous department store and as much a tourist attraction as a shopping destination. Harrods is probably most famed for the claim that they could obtain "Everything for Everyone, Everywhere" and the subsequent rumour that US President Reagan once ordered a baby elephant from the store. Other department stores include the flagship Selfridges and Harvey Nichols, as well as food emporium Fortnum & Mason.

Note: It may not escape notice that Paris, France is not listed; this is not because it isn't deemed a "Top Shopping Destination", but rather because I wanted to get a good global spread, having already included London and Milan which are also within Europe.

Happy Shopping!

Looks That Women Love On Men

Looks That Women Love On Men

Looks That Women Love On Men

By Ellen Tarnapolsky

Women aren't the only ones who put time and effort into their appearance. Men also want to look good in order to attract women. But sometimes men often miss the boat completely, clueless about what women actually find attractive. Below are a few fashion tips that men should keep in mind. Following these guidelines will definitely turn a few heads in your direction, in a good way.

  • Wear clothes that fit: It may seem like a trend to wear pants so low that your underwear is showing, but I don't know a single woman who actually finds this attractive. Buy a belt, pull up your pants, and look like a grown up. If you ask women for their opinion, I guarantee that 99% of them will say that they prefer pants on men that fit properly. On the flip side, women also find tight fitting pants very unattractive on men. Save the tight clothes for her. So guys, when you are shopping for pants or jeans, just go with your actual size.

  • Suits are not overrated: If you ask a girl out on a date, you better believe that she will spend a good amount of time getting ready. So imagine her disappointment when you show up wearing ratty jeans and a t-shirt. Ok, this doesn't mean that you have to wear a suit and tie if you're going out to dinner (unless it's that kind of place), but a white button down shirt and a black jacket are completely appropriate for a night out. You may feel uncomfortable at first, especially if this isn't the type of thing you normally wear. But believe me fellas, your date will appreciate it, and you'll definitely score some points. And don't think you have to spend a lot on a good suit or black jacket. You can get good suits and jackets at discount stores like Marshall's, TJMaxx, or Macy's.

  • Don't be afraid of a few accessories: Women aren't the only ones who can accessorize. Men should definitely limit the accessories they wear, but a few here and there can definitely put some style into your look. Sunglasses, for example, are a fashion must-have for men. They give you that mysterious, non-chalant look that women go crazy over. But choose your sunglasses wisely, as the wrong pair can actually have the opposite affect. The styles of sunglasses that women like most on men are Aviator shades and rectangle frames. Like suits, you don't have to spend a lot to get good quality sunglasses. Wholesale prices are much cheaper, so you can get things like wholesale sunglasses for a lot less than you would find in the stores.

Buying sunglasses wholesale is a cheaper and easier way to get good quality fashion sunglasses, for a fraction of the cost. Get wholesale sunglasses from wholesalefashionsquare.com, and you'll never buy sunglasses at retail again.

When to Kiss Your Beauty Products Goodbye

When to Kiss Your Beauty Products Goodbye

When to Kiss Your Beauty Products Goodbye

By Jayna Davis

More or less, we know how hard it is to find that perfect shade of lipstick or that miraculous foundation that glides on smoothly and makes skin look divine. When the perfect shade goes out of production, chances are we will try to prolong the lifespan of our favorites. Using them sparingly for special occasions might be an ideal way to make them live as long as your pet fish, but there will always come a time when we have to say goodbye.

Makeup and other beauty products, like canned food, have an expiration date. Expired products can cause irritation, blemishes and infections when used beyond their expiration date. The reason for this is two-fold: bacteria and chemical change.

To prevent blemishes, irritations and infections from developing, it is best to know when to stop using your favorites. Here's how.

Foundation

Water-based foundations are at risk of becoming a breeding ground for bacteria. Unopened and sealed water-based foundations can last for a few years. Otherwise, it is wiser to replace them after 6 months to a year. High temperatures and moist environments trigger the growth of bacteria that speed up the spoiling process. Once a foul smell or a change in color occurs, you will know that it's time to go shopping for a new one.

Concealer

The best way to know when to toss your concealer is when the color has already changed. Old concealers also cause breakouts. Those in stick and powder forms tend to last longer, up to two years, but liquid concealers should be disposed of after one.

Face Powder

There are some face powders that contain a relatively miniscule amount of water from the botanical extracts they are made of. There is still a small risk that bacteria may grow on it when it is placed in moist warm areas. When they are outside these kinds of areas, they will last for up to two years, assuming you don't run out of it before then. Just make sure you clean whatever you use to apply face powders because they can transfer bacteria from your face to the product.

Blush

Treat your blush like you would treat your face powder. Both contain minimal amounts of botanical extracts and water. In addition, make sure your face is dry before applying powder-based product so that you won't transfer bacteria, oils, or water from your face.

Eye Shadow

Cream-based shadows grow bacteria more quickly than powders. Make sure that your fingers are dry and clean when applying. Powder eye shadows constantly come into contact with a mucous membrane, so there are more chances of bacteria transferring to the product and then to the eyes. No matter how pretty they look, they will only last up to about three months before they smell ugly.

Eyeliner

Liquid and pencil eyeliners should be replaced every three months. They are similar to eye shadows in the way that they come into contact with a mucous membrane. Pencils can last longer as than liquid eyeliners when sharpened regularly. When a hard white film starts to develop, do your eyes a favor and toss them.

Mascara

Mascaras should be replaced every two to three months. They come into close contact with your eyes, so be very careful when applying them. The repetitive act of coating your eyelashes and putting the brush back in the tube might become a source of bacterial growth which may cause conjunctivitis, sties, or even itchiness.

Lipstick and Lip Gloss

Lipsticks and lip glosses can last for as long as two years since it doesn't contain any water. However, they are applied on the lips which make them slightly prone to a recurring cold. This is why you should consider purchasing new ones after you've been really ill. A really old lipstick will be difficult to apply. It gets hard and cakey while lip glosses will be a little streaky and globby.

Nail Polish

Nail polish has a very low chance of going stale and giving you infections. The only thing it can do is dry out and change color. Once the pigments start to settle, try giving it a shake. If the pigments still separate, it's time to get a new one.

Makeup Brushes and other Applicators

Brushes and applicators will last you a good number of years when properly cared for. Store brushes upright to air them out and prevent deformation. Wipe them on a dry paper towel or washcloth after every use to remove pigment and other powders that might mix with your makeup. Clean them every two weeks and their pristine condition will reciprocate the love and care you have given them.

Makeup sponges are a different story. Cheap ones should be replaced after the sides have been used. High-quality ones that come with a cleanser will last you a little longer. Old and porous sponges will absorb makeup and bacteria. You will run the risk of a breakout, so toss them and get a new one.

New Year's Eve Sparkling Options

New Year's Eve Sparkling Options

New Year's Eve Sparkling Options

By Gretchen Spreitzer

What to bring for New Year's Eve? It's a tough call. In my experience, it is difficult, if not impossible to find a champagne or methode champenoise wine much under $30 that is qualified to ring in the new. There are a few standbys that lurk in the vicinity, but what if your budget is lower? Luckily, there is a wide variety of sparkling wines that can make an impression and suit the wallet.

As an introduction, it is important to realize why champagne is so expensive. Only champagne from the Champagne region of France can be called champagne. Everything else is sparkling wine, even if it is made the same way as champagne. These 'methode champenoise' wines can be everything that Champagne is, and can also be cheaper. That being said, many luxury American sparklers can be just as, if not more expensive than French.

Another reason champagne was historically more expensive than other wines is because of its double stage fermentation. Champagne undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle which supplies its bubbles. A riddler turns champagne bottles back and forth and then upside down about once every three days in order to encourage the sediment to collect at the top of the bottle, and not along the sides or the bottom. Once fermentation is completed, the sediment plug is removed and the bottle is capped for sale. Without riddling, the resulting champagne would appear cloudy from all the sediment left in the bottle. No wonder the Riddler went bonkers. Today, the riddling is done by machine.

CAVA

One of my favorite champagne substitutes is Cava. Cava is a Spanish methode champanoise sparkling wine. It varies widely in quality and price, so be sure to try it before offering it at a party. The price of cava goes up with its level of dryness, with extra brut generally the most expensive. Although 'expensive' is relative here. It is difficult to find a cava with a price tag of over $20. Buy a selection and choose your favorite. There are many levels of sweetness and color. It is lovely to drink for a party and can offer a surprisingly complex flavor. A slightly sweeter taste profile is a good thing for this wine.

PROSECCO

Now we move north to Italy. The classic Italian aperitif is prosecco. Prosecco can be much cheaper than champagne as its secondary fermentation takes place in a tank, not in the bottle. As a result, it stops bubbling in the glass much quicker than champagne style sparkling. It has a bright, light, fruity front taste (even the driest examples) and does not offer much in terms of secondary aroma. However, they are delicious and tend to be low in alcohol, so they are perfect for early evening toasts and New Year's Day brunches.

VOUVRAY

Vouvray comes from the Loire Valley region in France. The price tag for sparkling vouvray will be higher than both cava and prosecco, but it will likely not be as expensive as champagne. These wines are very full flavored and are suitable for aging. Acidity is a characteristic of this wine and be more apparent the drier the example. These are best paired with food. Think of a vouvray for the hors d'oeurve portion of the evening, as they can stand up to even hearty fare.

AMERICAN SPARKLING

The key to finding delicious, affordable champagne style wines made in the USA is by seeking out producers in alternative California regions (meaning not Napa) such as Alexander or Sonoma Valley. Even still, you will find that a good bottle is going to cost over $20. Brut NV (non-vintage) will offer the best value, if not the full flavor complexity of a vintage.

There are many other alternative sparkling wines to try, such as Brachetto (a red sparkling that is very interesting) or some of the new red methode champenoise wines out of Australia. They are making sparklers there out of the classic Aussie shiraz, which offer a wonderful blackberry fruit flavor. Lambrusco is a tank fermented Italian sparkling red wine that I tend to avoid. If anyone has found one to recommend, please leave a comment.

There are so many different things to offer for New Year's - without the need to spend a ton of money on one bottle. Taste first, keep it chilled, and enjoy. Happy New Year!

How to Wear a Bright Lip

How to Wear a Bright Lip

How to Wear a Bright Lip

By Jayna Davis

Bright lips are the newest trend this season. From runway shows to department store makeup counters, bold shades are on display everywhere. Wearing a bright lipstick can be somewhat intimidating, especially if you've never tried a bold lip before! Not to fear, in a few steps you can sift through that lengthy rainbow of colors and find your ideal, bright shade of lipstick!

Bright lipsticks can be found at almost any drugstore, department store makeup counter, and obviously, beauty retailer. Like any beauty product, bright hued lipsticks can be found in a very wide range of prices. The first step is determining how bold you would like to go. Ask yourself if you will be wearing the lipstick alone, or mixing it to create a softer, subtler look. If you aren't sure what you want, you can always buy a brighter shade and slightly tone it down for everyday use. For example, here are some similar shades but in different brands and prices.

$

Covergirl Lip Perfect Lipstick in "hot" can be found for about $6.00 in drug stores. "Hot" is a rich red/pink shade that is very highly pigmented and has lots of staying power. For a really decent price and broad selection of colors, this lipstick is a perfect brand to experiment with.

$$

Clinique High Impact Lipstick in "Peach Pop" can be found in Belk stores and online at the Clinique website. The "Peach Pop" shade has an orange/pink tone. This lipstick is also highly pigmented and is advertised to hydrate and protect lips with SPF 15, a nice little bonus to have in your lipstick. This color lasts 8 hours.

$$$

Nars Semi Matte Lipstick in "Funny Face" can be found in store or at the Nars website. The "Funny Face" shade is very rich and pigmented. The color appears to be a red/pink with slight blue undertones. This longwearing lipstick promises to nourish your lips and protect them during use.

Once you've determined how bold you want to go, begin to think about your skin tone.

Fair:

For women with fair skin, usually the most flattering shades are orange -based pinks and reds.

Olive:

For women with olive skin, typically blue- based red lipsticks will complement this complexion.

Dark:

For women with dark skin, plum shades make the skin glow!

Keep in mind that any woman, no matter what shade her skin, can easily wear a bright pink lipstick. Pink and red combinations are extremely versatile, and flattering on every type of skin! If you're unsure of the color you have selected, and the store offers lipstick samples, feel free to try the sample on your hand to test the color. Many women make the mistake of sampling the color on their lips, which is extremely germy and dangerous! Also, testing the color on the back of your hand isn't very helpful since your lips aren't the color of your hand. Instead, try testing the color on your fingertips.

Women often get intimidated about wearing bright lips because they're unsure of how to incorporate the look into their everyday makeup looks. The process is really quite simple. Choose one feature to highlight: eyes, lips, or cheeks. If you chose to highlight your lips, (like with a bold lip color), you would simply tone down the rest of your makeup. Wear natural looking eye shadow, very small touch of blush, and a quick swipe of mascara. The key is focusing on one key feature at a time; highlighting more than one at once can seem over-the-top and distracting!

Once you've applied your bright lipstick, you can still make changes to it if desired. If you would like the lipstick to be less severe, blot some of the color off onto a napkin, (be sure to make sure it won't leave any fuzz behind on your lips!) and apply a little lip balm over the color. The lipstick shade will soften up greatly, and you will be left with a subtle glow of your original shade. If you want to add a little polish to your bright color, you can apply a smidge of lip -gloss in the center of your bottom lip, then rub your lips together to smooth out the gloss.

The Matte finish is very trendy right now, but a very different feel altogether. If you want a matte (non-glossy) finish, look for lipsticks labeled "matte". Matte lipsticks are an entirely different world of lipsticks! Mattes are much harder to remove, but last a very long time. Matte lipsticks aren't made to be mixed with glosses and balms, but instead to be worn alone.

Part of the fun of trying out new trends is playing around to see which ones work for you. Whenever experimenting with lip color, always remember to just have fun with it!

What To Wear For NYE 2012

By Ellen Tarnapolsky

This New Year's Eve, wow your friends and look more fabulous that you've ever looked. New Year's Eve is a time to let your hair down and have fun with your style. It's a time you can be a little risky with your outfit and not be afraid that you're dressing over the top. You can always wear a little black dress, but sometimes you just want something a little different. Below are some ideas that will help you look your absolute best this NYE.

  • Go Backless: A backless dress has the ultimate sex appeal. It's classy and sexy without being sleazy. When you're showing off a sexy back, you may not need to do much else with your outfit. If your hair is long, wear it in a tight high ponytail to make sure the back is exposed. Put on some kitten heels, big hoop earrings, and an extra long pendant necklace to finish off the look.

  • Wear A Bustier: I can guarantee that you probably won't be seeing anyone else wearing this at your New Year's Eve party, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't! A bustier isn't just for the bedroom anymore. Women wear these lingerie-inspired tops to lavish nightclubs and other formal events. You can wear it with a lady-like pencil skirt, or throw on a blazer if you want to cover up a little. A black satin bustier, a long beaded necklace and a white blazer is an awesome Madonna-esque look that is sure to turn heads. If you can't find a good bustier that's meant to be worn as an outer garment, try wearing a very low cut shirt or dress and let your lacy bra be exposed a little.

  • Wear Contrasting Colors: This New Year's Eve, forget trying to be matchy-matchy. Sometimes colors that clash can actually look quite charming. Pair up a blue leather skirt with an orange top, or a yellow blouse with a skirt with purple designs. These colors may clash on the color wheel, but wearing them as a fashion statement can work if you do it right. You can also trying pairing up the same color in different shades, like a bright red top with a pink skirt.

  • Switch the black pants for leather leggings: What a fabulous way to take your outfit to the next level! Black leather leggings are an easy way to dress up your outfit. Wear them with a sheer animal print blouse and killer stilletos and you have a sexy and fabulous look. Add some gold and silver dangly bracelets and an extra long necklace, and you'll definitely turn heads that night.

  • Choose where to spend: If you have to be careful about how much you spend for your New Year's Eve outfit, then choose one item that can splurge on, like the leather leggings for example. For the rest, shop wisely. Go wholesale where you can. You can get wholesale clothes and accessories for prices that won't leave you in the red.

If you want stylish and fashionable clothing but don't want to break your wallet, you'll find that buying wholesale from a place like wholesalefashionsquare.com is a much better way of getting all of today's latest styles straight to your door, for a fraction of the cost. Once you see how easy it is to get wholesale clothes, you'll never want to buy from retail again.
